Biography

I am a busy freelance writer working on a range of projects, some of which I am even paid for. I have ghostwritten books on topics as diverse as the rise of hematology as a full-fledged medical discipline (Pioneering Hematology), the ground-breaking advances in organ transplantation (Surgery of the Soul), and the nuances of the financial services industry in a global market (Financial Services Without Borders).

First-person essays are my first love, and I have written many, mostly about parenting. On the professional front, I have written about thought leadership as a staff writer for Harvard Business School, and penned web copy, white papers, and keynote speeches for senior executives at Digitas, a global interactive marketing company.

Now that the kids are mostly out of the house, volunteering takes up an ever larger amount of my time. Past leadership roles include chairing the Education, Training & Development committee of the Junior League of Boston, and co-chairing its Pediatric AIDS Explained project. I am currently president of the board of The Second Step, a Newton, MA-based domestic violence agency.

I graduated from Wellesley College and live in Newton, Massachusetts with my husband, two college-age children, and one untrainable beagle.

If you would like to get in touch to comment on this website, to hire me to write for you, or to offer dog training advice, I can be reached at sharon@sharonhjohnson.com.
